Daiso kitchen items have turned my kitchen into a Korean restaurant vibe. Would you believe it if a Korean stainless steel bowl costs 1.5 euros? This is the reason why you should go Daiso shopping when you come to Korea. If you travel to Korea and go back home wanting to eat like a Korean restaurant sometimes, shop a Korean tableware set at Daiso. With just 10 euros total, you can make your kitchen feel like a Korean restaurant. This is absolutely not a Daiso ad!! It’s just that not only me, but all Koreans love Daiso.

Daiso’s Criteria for Choosing a Korean Tableware Set 🥄

Korean restaurant feel: Actually, in Korean households, people use ceramic bowls rather than the Korean stainless steel bowls you’ve seen at Korean restaurants. But since today’s concept is “enjoy a Korean restaurant at home too,” I put this together with stainless steel Daiso kitchen items.

Affordable price: At Daiso, everything is under 5,000 won (2.9 euro), and most of the things I’m showing you today are 1,000~3,000 won (1~1.7 euro). If you buy this in Europe it’s over 10 euros, so definitely buy it in Korea!

10 Daiso Kitchen Items That Turned My Kitchen Into a Korean Restaurant

1. Ttukbaegi (Korean Stone Pot)

  • Price: 3000 won (€1.7, $2)

If you go to a Korean BBQ restaurant, you’ve probably seen doenjang-jjigae served boiling in this stone pot. This is called a ttukbaegi. This is used for boiling stews, and it stays boiling hot throughout the meal so you can eat it warm until you finish. Every Korean has a ttukbaegi at home. However, it cannot be used on induction. It is possible on an electric stove.

Every Korean household has Ttukbaegi for Jjigae. The photo from a Daiso kitchen find.

2. Stainless Steel Spoon & Chopsticks Set

  • Price: 3,000 won (€1.7, $2)
The stainless steel spoon and chopsticks set that’s part of my everyday Korean tableware set.

What’s the difference between Japanese or Chinese wooden chopsticks and Korean chopsticks? Korean chopsticks are flat, metal, and heavier. Historically, this comes from royal court customs (silver was used to detect poison), but today, metal chopsticks are used for practical reasons. They get less damaged and can go straight into the dishwasher.

👱🏼‍♀️ Blonde Kimchi says

I find it such a hassle to wash wooden chopsticks every single time. And honestly, metal chopsticks just feel more hygienic to me. Haha.

3. Korean Stainless Jeongol Pot (Korean Wide Hot Pot)

  • Price: 5,000 won (€2.9, $3.3)

This shallow, wide pot is placed in the middle of the table and used for stew dishes like budae-jjigae or mandu jeongol, or even for dishes like dak-galbi or jeyuk-bokkeum. It’s meant to be placed on the table and simmered so you can eat it warm until the very end of the meal.

You won’t find this at this price anywhere but a Daiso kitchen.

👱🏼‍♀️ Blonde Kimchi says

This is genuinely hard to find at this price in the US or Europe, and just one of these alone gives off such a real Korean restaurant feel. I don’t regret buying it at all.

  • Price: 3,000 won (€1.7, $2)

You can easily spot kitchen shears on the table at a Korean BBQ restaurant. We Koreans cut everything with scissors – meat, noodles, kimchi, even Korean pancakes. It’s convenient because you don’t need to bring out a cutting board and can just cut right there.

These 2,000~3,000 won kitchen shears are the real MVP of any Daiso Korean tableware set .

👱🏼‍♀️ Blonde Kimchi says

My European friends saw me cutting Korean pancake with scissors, and they all went and bought this 3,000 won pair from Daiso kitchen corner too, haha.

When I was in Europe, buying something as cheap as what’s at Daiso didn’t cut Korean BBQ meat well. KitchenAid was reasonably priced and cut meat well.

5. Yangeun Pot (Korean Ramen Pot)

  • Price: 3,000 won (€1.7, $2)

You’ve probably seen this gold pot in Korean dramas, in scenes where someone is cooking ramyeon alone at midnight. This is a yangeun pot, made from an aluminum alloy.

Not the healthiest choice anymore, but still a staple at Korean pocha.

👱🏼‍♀️ Blonde Kimchi says

Honestly, it’s not great for your health, so households don’t really use it anymore, but Korean pocha (Korean bar) and restaurants still use it quite often.

8. Stainless Steel Rice Bowl

  • Price: 3,000 won (€1.7, $2)

This Korean stainless steel bowl is the exact one restaurants use to cook rice portion by portion.

I often scoop rice or side dishes onto the lid of the rice bowl, haha. It becomes another little personal plate for me.

9. Stainless Steel Sauce/Side Dish Bowl

You’ve probably seen these dipping sauce bowls at Korean BBQ restaurants. The sauce plate at Daiso kitchen usually hold ssamjang, salt, or sesame oil for dipping meat. You can also use them for side dishes like kimchi or danmuji (pickled radish).

This tiny Korean stainless steel bowl at Daiso kitchen keeps dipping sauces like ssamjang.

10. Stainless Steel Water Bottle

You may have noticed these on many Korean restaurant tables, filled with ice. Even after hours, the ice doesn’t melt and it stays as cold water. It’s exactly what Koreans who love icy cold water are drawn to.

👱🏼‍♀️ Blonde Kimchi says

What’s inside might not be plain water. It could be roasted barley tea, which has a nutty flavor and feels like something my grandmother used to boil at home so drinking barley tea at a restaurant warms my heart. Of course, it’s cold barley tea, haha.

FAQ

Daiso itself generally doesn’t ship outside Korea (there are some exceptions, like Daiso Japan’s international stores), which is exactly why we’ve included Amazon alternatives for most of the items here.

This is a mix of history (royal court traditions) and practicality, metal doesn’t warp, doesn’t absorb smells or stains, and lasts years longer than wooden chopsticks.

No. In Korea, induction-compatible versions are sometimes sold, but the regular ttukbaegi and the ones you’d typically find overseas, cannot be used on induction.
