Buldak fried rice is a Korean crazy spicy fried rice made by stir-frying spicy buldak sauce, rice, and sausage that will blow away your stress. It takes just 10 minutes to complete, and as my stimulating lazy dinner where you feel an intense, tongue-numbing spicy taste and umami at the same time, you too can make a stress-relieving meal with just a few ingredients in your fridge.

Stress-blowing buldak fried rice is my go-to dinner

How Spicy Is This Buldak Fried Rice?

It’s much spicier than regular buldak ramen. I personally like spicy food, so I used x2 spicy buldak sauce. If you’re sensitive to spice, adding just 1 tablespoon of regular buldak sauce and slightly increasing the oyster sauce ratio can keep the umami while lowering just the spiciness.

Why Does Buldak Rice Help With Stress?

When I’m stressed, I put buldak sauce on everything I eat. Among those, this buldak fried rice is my go-to stress-relief dinner.
There’s a scientific reason too:

  • Capsaicin stimulation: spice triggers a receptor that causes a quick stress response, followed by relaxation
  • Endorphin
  • Serotonin and dopamine

Tips for the Best Buldak Sauce Fried Rice

  • Use cold rice: I used hot rice, but actually you should use cold rice for it to fry up more fluffy and delicious.
  • Cook the ingredients on medium heat, and stir-fry quickly on high heat once you add the rice. That way the rice doesn’t get mushy.
  • Sprinkling seaweed flakes on top as a garnish makes it even more delicious! or you can also use the seaweed flakes that come with buldak ramen.
