The first pick in the best Paris Baguette bread is Castella. There’s also a round castella as well, but not that one. This square one is way better. It’s made with Korean honey, so it has a rich, flavorful sweetness and it’s so moist. The brown part on the outside has the deepest flavor and is the sweetest! So honestly, I sometimes peel off just that part and eat it first, haha.
- Best Drink Pairing: Iced Americano, plain milk
- Korean Local Tip: Dip the castella in plain milk.

There are only 3 pieces inside, which makes it the perfect amount for a snack. Actually, it used to have more pieces and was sold under the name “Honey Bon Délice but it recently disappeared because of rising prices.
A bigger version is now sold as “Myeongga Myeongpum Honey Castella” at Paris Baguette Korea. It comes in a long box and has a long shelf life, so it’s a great souvenir to take home. When I lived in Belgium, I couldn’t find castella cake that tasted like Paris Baguette’s.

This was one of my favorite breads as a kid. It came to Korea from Japan’s choco cornet. Of course, there’s something similar in Europe, but this one, a brioche-like soft bread with chocolate custard cream inside, was one of the breads I really missed when I was in Belgium.

Sometimes I buy it just because I crave that sweet mocha part on top, haha.

When I was a baby I had this soboro ppang at Paris Baguette Korea and often picked off just the soboro topping, ate it, and gave the rest to my dad…. Sorry, Dad.

When I lived in Europe, this was a taste I couldn’t find anywhere, so I missed it so, so much. So I recommend you try it while you’re in Korea. If you come with little kids, they’ll love this cheesecake because it’s soft and sweet. It’s also one-hand size, so I recommend it.

- Korean Local Tip: Dip it in plain milk or sweet Korean coffee milk (a cold one). It’s soft and delicious.
Blonde Kimchi Old Story 👱🏼♀️🥬
Korean “grown-ups(?)”, my parents’ generation, love bread that smells like coffee. This is coffee-scented mocha bread filled with coffee-flavored cream, and many parents have loved it for a long time. These days, maybe because of rising prices, the cream looks smaller than when I was a kid (maybe it’s just me), and the size has shrunk too. Also, it has chocolate chips now, but originally it had raisins. Young Koreans hate raisins, so most Paris Baguette breads with raisins were changed to chocolate chips like this. Honestly, since then, my parents don’t really eat this bread. But if you like sweets, maybe you’ll like it even more now with chocolate chips?
9. Pull-Apart Roll Cheese Bread (뜯어먹는 롤치즈 브레드)
- Nutrition (275 g): 790 kcal · Sodium 1,520 mg · Sugars 13 g · Saturated Fat 16 g · Protein 25 g
Soft, chewy bread packed with savory, salty roll cheese. You bite into little cheese bits every time, and that flavor is so good.
- Best Drink Pairing: Café latte, plain milk
- Korean Local Tip: Microwave it for 10 seconds so the cheese melts a little. Actually, this bread went viral in Korea because an online math teacher showed his way to eat it: spreading strawberry jam, peanut butter, and cream cheese on top. Honestly, I’ve been eating that combo on milk bread for years, but on this roll cheese bread, the harmony with the cheese is insane.
Blonde Kimchi Tips 👱🏼♀️🥬
If you live abroad, just tear up sliced cheese like gouda into small pieces, put it on milk bread or brioche, and spread strawberry jam, peanut butter, and cream cheese on it.
10. Insaeng Cream Bread, Milk (인생크림빵 우유)
- Nutrition (104 g): 340 kcal · Sodium 210 mg · Sugars 15 g · Saturated Fat 12 g · Protein 5 g
A soft bun filled to the brim with milk whipped cream made with vanilla bean. It’s probably the newest of all the breads I’ve shown you.
- Best Drink Pairing: Plain milk, iced Americano
- Korean Local Tip: Koreans especially love “eol-meok” in summer, which means eating things frozen. Freeze this cream bread, then let it thaw for about 10–15 minutes before eating. You can enjoy it cold like ice cream, with a thick, dense texture.
