I’m going to show you the Korean foods featured in the trendy Netflix series KPop Demon Hunters. From Korean street food to snacks, I was so hungry the whole time haha

Korean Food in K Pop Demon Hunters
This movie starts with a mukbang scene. Which type of Korean food mukbang do you like the most? Pick your favorite below!
Cup Ramyeon 컵라면

Like most Koreans, Rumi, Mira, and Zoey love cup ramyeon. Judging by the packaging, it looks most similar to Jin Ramyeon by Ottogi, which comes in both spicy and mild flavors. It’s one of the most popular instant noodles in Korea, known for its delicious broth. When Koreans eat cup ramyeon, they often enjoy it with various side foods like the ones below.

Kimbap 김밥

I was really impressed by the level of detail in KPop Demon Hunters. In Korea, when friends gather at home, it’s common to order several dishes and share everything together like this. Usually, people order tteokbokki, fried chicken, or pizza, but here, they featured one of Korea’s most iconic foods—kimbap.

Kimbap is different from sushi in many ways, including the seaweed, the way the rice is seasoned, and the fillings. The rice is flavored with salt and sesame oil, and it’s filled with various vegetables, ham, and egg. Korean seaweed is also thinner and crispier. If you’re curious about the differences between kimbap and sushi, I covered it in detail on my blog—be sure to check it out below.
Korean Corn Dog 핫도그

What Junwoo is holding is the Korean corn dog you all know and love. You probably already know this one! In Korea, we call corn dogs “hot dog.” It’s a crispy deep-fried snack made by coating a sausage in batter. There are popular variations like cheese corn dogs filled with mozzarella, and potato corn dogs with crunchy potato cubes on the outside—both are loved worldwide.

Have you ever tried making corn dogs at home and failed? I’ll show you an easy corn dog recipe using sandwich bread. Honestly, it turned out even crispier than store-bought ones. If I were in Korea, I’d never have tried making this myself, but this recipe is a twist on the one my mom used to make for me when I was little—now with panko to make it extra crispy.
Naengmyeon 냉면

Kpop Demon Hunters show lots of Korean noodles. The noodle dish on the table is Naengmyeon. Naengmyeon is a cold noodle dish served in an icy broth or without broth. The noodles are made from ingredients such as buckwheat, arrowroot, and sweet potato starch, which give the noodles different chewy textures. The broth may be made with beef, chicken, or dongchimi, a type of radish kimchi. In Pyongyang-style naengmyeon from North Korea, pheasant broth is traditionally used.
Toppings typically include thinly sliced beef, a boiled egg, and cucumber. The combination of the tangy-sweet broth and chewy noodles makes naengmyeon a perfect dish for hot summer days.
Hotteok 호떡

Hotteok is a chewy Korean snack made by stuffing a doughy flour batter with brown sugar and cinnamon, then pan-frying it in oil until crispy. As it cooks, the brown sugar melts into a sweet, syrupy filling—like a warm jam inside. It’s one of the most popular street snacks in Korea during the winter.

Here’s a recipe to make authentic Korean hotteok at home without using a hotteok mix. I made two versions: one with brown sugar filling and one with Nutella. Personally, I absolutely love the Nutella-filled hotteok.
Gamja Kkang 감자깡

At first, I thought the snack Zoey in KPop Demon Hunters was eating was Saeukkang (shrimp chips)—until I noticed the bag said “potato chips.” Gamjakkang and Saeukkang look almost identical, but they taste completely different. Saeukkang has a roasted shrimp flavor, while Gamjakkang has a savory and slightly salty potato taste. Saeukkang was even picked as BLACKPINK Jennie’s favorite snack.

Buldak Sauce 불닭 소스

Even though it’s not Korean food, the spicy sauce the Saja Boys in Kpop Demon Hunters are eating is none other than the famous Buldak Sauce you probably already know. I use it on bibimbap or even add extra to Buldak Ramyeon for more heat. If you love super spicy food, I recommend trying the Haek Buldak (Nuclear Buldak) Sauce—it’s even spicier!

Seolleongtang 설렁탕

Do you remember this soup in KPop Demon Hunters? Seolleongtang is a milky beef bone soup made by simmering ox bones and brisket for many hours. Just like in Kpop Demon Hunters, it’s typically enjoyed with kkakdugi (radish kimchi). A common way to eat it is by adding chopped green onions and mixing in a bowl of rice. Some people even like to add a bit of kkakdugi juice for extra flavor. Rich in calcium, seolleongtang is also known in Korea as a healing food—especially when recovering from broken bones.

Eomuk (Fish Cake) 어묵
The food on a skewer is eomuk (fish cake). Although it originally came from Japan, it has become one of the most popular Korean street foods. Especially in winter!

Sundae (Korean Sausage) 순대
The dark food behind the fish cake is sundae, a Korean-style blood sausage made by stuffing pig intestines with ingredients like pork blood, glass noodles, and vegetables. It’s somewhat similar to black pudding in the UK. Koreans usually don’t eat sundae by itself—it’s often served as a side with tteokbokki. Dipping sundae into spicy tteokbokki sauce is an iconic and delicious combo!
Pepero 빼빼로

Besides Korean food, Kpop Demon Hunters features a lot of Korean snacks throughout the movie. The red box on the table is a Korean snack called Pepero—thin biscuit sticks coated in chocolate. In Korea, November 11th is known as Pepero Day, when couples exchange Pepero as a cute gesture. It’s also a day when people give Pepero to someone they like to confess their feelings.
