ABOUT ME
Hello, I’m Sunju.
I grew up in Seoul, where food is our love language. Since moving to Europe, I’ve realized there is a big gap between the Korean food I grew up with and what the rest of the world sees.
Most people think Korean food starts and ends with Bibimbap or K-BBQ. Others are intimidated, thinking it’s impossible to cook authentic dishes without living next to an Asian market.
Neither is true.
I started Blonde Kimchi to prove it.
The truth is, Korean cooking isn’t as far removed from Western kitchens as you might think. You don’t need rare imports to have the right flavors; the basics in your local supermarket are often all you need.
And the food? It is so much more than just the famous classics. It’s the viral snacks from the latest K-dramas, the modern cafe trends in Seoul, and the comforting everyday meals that never make it onto restaurant menus.
I’m here to share that full, vibrant world with you. Making it easy, accessible, and exciting to cook real Korean food, right where you are!

My Kitchen Rules
So Much More Than Bibimbap: I go beyond the tourist menu. From viral “Bunsik” (street food) and K-Drama snacks to modern home cooking, I share the food that Koreans actually eat today.
Western Pantry, Korean Soul: You’d be surprised how similar our ingredients are. I show you how to use standard Western grocery items to create authentic Korean flavors.
Modern & Real: Tradition is important, but Korean food is constantly evolving. I embrace the new trends and pop culture influences alongside the classics.
Simple & Doable: Authentic doesn’t mean complicated. My goal is to make Korean cooking feel familiar and fun, not like a challenge.
