This is a protein-packed tofu dish made for meat lovers! Generously topped with savory pork kimchi stir-fry, it's a flavorful side dish and a fantastic snack to pair with drinks. The Pork Kimchi Stir-Fry is also delicious served over rice!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 block tofu
  • 200 g kimchi
  • 150 g ground pork
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/5 green onion
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp gocugaru Korean red pepper powder
  • 1/2 tbsp anchovy fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 pinch sesame seeds for garnish

Equipment

  • 1 cutting board and knife
  • 1 medium saucepan
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 small mixing bowl

Method

Prepare the Tofu
  1. Cut the tofu into a large square.
  2. Blanch tofu in boiling water for 3 minutes.
  3. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Kimchi
  1. Cut the kimchi into small pieces.
Prepare the Vegetables
  1. Dice the onion thinly.
  2. Slice the green onion thinly.
Cook the Dish
  1. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add a small amount of oil.
  2. Add the sliced green onion and stir to make green onion oil.
  3. Add the sliced onion.
  4. Add the minced pork and stir-fry until cooked.
  5. Season the Dish
  6. Add 1/2 tbsp sugar
  7. Add 1/2 tbsp anchovy fish sauce
  8. Add 1/2 tbsp gochugaru (Korean red pepper powder)
  9. Add aged kimchi to the pan and stir-fry
  10. Add 3 tbsp water to the pan and let it simmer until the liquid is reduced.
Finish the Dish
  1. Turn off the heat
  2. Add 2 tbsp of sesame oil
  3. mix well to enhance the flavor
Serve
  1. Place the tofu pieces on a serving plate
  2. Spoon the pork kimchi stir-fry over the tofu

  3. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds
